University welcomes new Digital Accessibility Compliance Officer

The Office of Compliance and Ethics selected Christy Dobson to serve as the university's Digital Accessibility Compliance Officer, the office announced.

Dobson will be responsible for leading the university's digital accessibility compliance efforts by providing oversight for digital access strategies, conducting accessibility audits, and providing training and guidance to campus on best practices for digital accessibility. She will also oversee the evaluation of digital technologies and services being developed, implemented or considered for purchase on campus.

Dobson brings over 11 years of experience working in digital accessibility, including overseeing digital accessibility compliance at Brigham Young University-Idaho and serving as the accessibility media specialist for FranklinCovey. She also has experience in online course improvement and course development, and taught composition courses as an adjunct faculty for the English Department at BYU-Idaho.

Dobson will be instrumental in helping the university comply with the new ADA Title II digital accessibility guidelines and leading the university's digital accessibility compliance committee.
