Bettendorf Public Library Featuring Delicious Documentary on Saturday, May 30
May 14, 2026 - It's a dessert that heals us, unites us, and fills us up.
On Saturday, May 30, from 2-4 p.m., the Bettendorf Public Library will hold a free screening of PIEOWA: A PIECE OF AMERICA, a feature documentary that celebrates the myriad ways pie is woven into Iowa's and America's culture, the lengths people will go for a slice, and how this humble pastry can bake the world a better place.
Beth M. Howard, producer, director, and editor of PIEOWA, will be in attendance to discuss the film, which has earned accolades including Best Food Film at the 2025 San Antonio Film Festival, the Audience Award at the 2025 Silicon Beach Film Festival, and an Award of Merit at the 2025 Impact DOCS Awards.
The screening also includes pie for attendees to enjoy. To ensure there is enough pie for everyone, online registration is strongly encouraged.
