APGFCU Recognized for Excellence in Financial Education

APGFCU has been named the 2026 recipient of the Sheldon K. Caplis Corporate Partnership Award. The award recognizes the credit union's commitment to expanding free, accessible financial education throughout Maryland communities.

APGFCU received the award at the 13th annual Maryland Financial Education and Capability Awards ceremony. The credit union was honored alongside other Maryland Financial Education and Capability Award recipients at an in-person reception and was later recognized for its financial education excellence by the Maryland General Assembly during its evening session at the Maryland State House.

"At the heart of our mission as a credit union is a commitment to the financial well-being of our members and the communities we proudly serve," said Liz Monti, vice president of financial education at APG Federal Credit Union. "We believe financial well-being grows through knowledge and confidence. We bring this mission to life through free workshops, digital tools, partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations, scholarships, and free one-on-one financial coaching. We are proud of the impact these collective efforts have on our communities and are truly honored to be recognized with this award."

The awards ceremony was presented by the nonprofits CASH Campaign of Maryland (Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope), Maryland Council on Economic Education and the Maryland State Department of Education. Each year, the awards highlight the dedication and achievements of outstanding organizations, community champions, corporate partners, and educators who deliver financial education across the state.
