Greenberg Traurig Advises Eurogrid on €5.25 Billion Green Revolving Credit Facility

BERLIN - March 2, 2026 - Global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised Eurogrid GmbH on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of €5.25 billion in green revolving credit facilities (RCF). These credit facilities, provided by a consortium of German and international banks, replace and consolidate Eurogrid GmbH's previous revolving credit facilities from 2021 and 2024.

Eurogrid GmbH is the parent and financing company of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH and its subsidiaries. 50Hertz operates the electricity transmission grid in northern and eastern Germany and supplies approximately 18 million people with electricity. The new RCF increases the liquidity scope for the grid expansion required for the integration of renewable energies. It currently makes use of the Green Financing Framework established in fall 2025 and can be converted to green pure-play financing in the future.

Background:

Eurogrid GmbH has been a client of Greenberg Traurig for many years. The team, led by Kati Beckmann, regularly advises the company on the structuring of complex financing transactions.
