The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, addressed a letter to the President of the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations following the Zionist regime's military aggression against several locations in Iran, including military bases, nuclear facilities, and residential buildings, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of military commanders, university professors, and innocent Iranian women and children.

He characterized the act of aggression as a declaration of war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, demanding the immediate attention of the Security Council on this matter.

In the letter, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that the Zionist regime's attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity as an independent member state of the United Nations and represent an overt act of aggression against Iran.

Araghchi called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, stating, "The Council must fulfill its responsibilities under the UN Charter, strongly condemn the aggression, and take immediate, concrete measures to hold the Israeli regime accountable."

The Foreign Minister further reaffirmed Iran's determination to defend itself in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter
