Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Shahin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Tete Antonio, expressing her gratitude and appreciation for Angola's historic and sincere support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, both nationally within Angola and in the frameworks of the African Union and the United Nations. She also briefed him on the latest political developments, as well as the challenges facing the Palestinian people.
The Minister also held a meeting with Icelandic Foreign Minister Thordis Gudmundsdottir, during which she updated the Icelandic side on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, Israel's noncompliance with international law and relevant advisory opinions, and the resulting impact on the international system, which contributes to increasing regional and global tensions. She emphasized the importance of expanding European efforts to urge Israel to halt its ongoing violations.
During the meeting, the Minister also discussed the importance of strengthening bilateral Palestinian-Icelandic relations and ensuring that the U.S. peace plan under President Donald Trump aligns with international law and the territorial integrity of Palestine.
Shahin also met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, affirming the deep historical ties between the two countries and Palestine's commitment to continued coordination and cooperation in various international forums, based on the principle of solidarity among peoples and opposition to unilateral coercive measures. She also appreciated Cuba's ongoing support for Palestinian students.
In a meeting with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto, the Minister highlighted the deep mutual solidarity between the Palestinian and Venezuelan peoples, reaffirming Palestine's commitment to international law and its ongoing efforts to defend it and demand justice and accountability for all violations.
