City of Reno Hosts Veterans Day Parade on November 11

The City of Reno invites the community to this year's Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11, in downtown Reno. Festivities start at 11:11 a.m. The parade honors our brave military members who have served our country, as well as those currently on active-duty service across all branches of the military.

The theme of this year's parade is "Service to Our Nation," recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our military service members, past and present. The theme honors all branches of the military, uniting them under a shared purpose.

"We're proud to honor our veterans, active-duty military personnel and those who gave their lives in service on this special day as a reminder to all of us of their sacrifice to our nation," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. "It's important to highlight these individuals and I look forward to celebrating their contributions alongside our community."

Parade Details:

An Opening Ceremony will begin at 11:11 a.m. with a prayer and the National Anthem performed by Xochilt Luna. The ceremony will conclude with an official City of Reno Proclamation read by City of Reno Park Ranger Scott Hoffman. The ceremony will take place near the Virginia Street Bridge, south of the Virginia Street and First Street intersection.

The parade will start following the Opening Ceremony. The parade route goes north on Virginia Street from Liberty Street to 6th Street. Spectators are encouraged to gather along the route to show their support.

This year's Grand Marshal will be a surprise that will be announced at the parade.

The City of Reno's Veterans Day Parade has been an annual event for more that 20 years, since 1998.
