FirstHealth Welcomes Marc Sciarra, D.O., to FirstHealth Family Medicine-Pinehurst

PINEHURST - FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome Marc Sciarra, D.O., to FirstHealth Family Medicine-Pinehurst where he joins Tracy Bullard, M.D., FAAFP.

Dr. Sciarra brings eight years of experience practicing family medicine, providing comprehensive primary care for patients across all stages of life. He is committed to building long-term relationships with patients and helping them navigate complex health concerns with clarity and confidence.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Sciarra earned dual bachelor's degrees in math and biology from The Pennsylvania State University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan University in New Jersey. He completed his family medicine residency with Southern Regional Area Health Education Center, an affiliate of Duke University Medical Center.

He said his decision to pursue medicine, and family medicine specifically, was rooted in both personal interests and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

"I enjoy helping people and understanding how intricate systems work," said Dr. Sciarra. "Medicine allows me to combine those interests in a way that is deeply fulfilling. As a primary care physician, I have the opportunity to follow patients over time, make a positive impact on their well-being and see the changes that happen as a result of that care."

He has a particular passion for managing complex health conditions and improving outcomes through thoughtful, systems-based approaches to care. Among his clinical interests is endocrinology, an area of medicine that focuses on hormones and how the body keeps itself in balance.

"I find endocrine feedback loops fascinating," he said. "We can directly modulate these systems to correct disease states. Being able to influence those processes and improve a patient's health is incredibly rewarding."

For Dr. Sciarra, the most meaningful aspect of family medicine is the relationship he builds with his patients.

"Hearing positive feedback from patients is the most rewarding part of my work," he said. "When I hear that I've impacted someone's life in a positive way, that's what makes this work so fulfilling."
