Boise State student team shines in cybersecurity event

The College of Western Idaho recognized a Boise State University Cyber Operations and Resilience (CORe) team of students for their outstanding work in hosting a recent cybersecurity event for students. Under the leadership of Associate Director Kody Walker, the Boise State team created an engaging and impactful experience that showcased the strength of collaboration between the higher education institutions.

"This event was a tremendous success, providing our students with meaningful engagement, mentorship and exposure to pathways in cybersecurity education," said College of Western Idaho Information Technology Department Chair Laura Hill. "The professionalism and dedication of the Boise State team created an inspiring environment that directly impacted student interest and enrollment, underscoring the strength of collaboration between our institutions and the positive impact we are making together for Idaho's workforce and community."

Together, the team exemplified professionalism, mentorship and a commitment to student success. Their efforts created a welcoming environment where students could explore pathways in cybersecurity and see firsthand the opportunities available through Boise State's CORe program.

The CORe program looks forward to continuing the momentum with the next event later in the spring of 2026.
