Mayors Bicentennial Park Playground Grand Opening
Glendale, CA - The Community Services & Parks Department is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Mayors Bicentennial Park Playground. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Mayors Bicentennial Park, located at 1987 Loma Vista Dr., Glendale, CA 91208.
The Grand Opening event will kick off at 11:00 AM, followed by the official program at 11:15 AM. The program will include opening remarks from the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission, City Council, and Director of Community Services & Parks, followed by an official ribbon cutting.
This event, sponsored by playground vendor Kompan, Inc., celebrates the arrival of a one-of-a-kind Owl play structure in Glendale, along with a variety of exciting play features designed for kids of all abilities. This playground replacement project was made possible with funding from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) through Los Angeles County 2016 Measure A.
The playground's design reflects extensive community input gathered through public meetings and community surveys, giving residents the opportunity to help shape the final design and play features. The community is invited to join this family-friendly event, where children can also enjoy a variety of fun activities, including lawn games, face painting, balloon animals, and complimentary lemonade and churros.
