Lorca/Morales went 1-0 in doubles at the No. 2 doubles spot, defeating SFA's Ksenia Mamontoya/Avery Kinsey to help the Texans to a 4-3 team win on Monday. The duo won their sixth match of the season together and won their fourth straight match as a doubles duo, helping the Texans win their sixth straight match in the process.
The Texans have now collected six WAC Doubles Team of the Week honors in 2025, with Lorca/Morales picking up their second weekly honor of the season. Lorca/Morales were last named WAC Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 4.
The doubles duo has a 6-1 doubles record together in 2025. In their first doubles match together, Lorca/Morales were victorious over a Power 4 conference doubles team when they defeated Houston's Iva Sepa/Valeriia Krokhotina 6-3 on Feb. 2. They became the first Tarleton State doubles team since Jan. 16, 2022 (at Texas A&M) to beat a Power 4 conference doubles team.
After receiving WAC All-Conference Second Team honors last season, Lorca captured the first-ever WAC Tennis Invitational singles championship this fall. Lorca finished the 2024 spring season with an 18-2 singles record, including a 6-1 mark in WAC play. The Spainaird capped off her junior season by being named to the 2024 WAC All-Tournament Team.
Pairing up with freshman in the 2024 ITA Texas Regional Championships, Morales was a doubles finalist in the consolation bracket in the October event. She finished with a 9-3 record in doubles in 2024, all at the No. 2 position. Morales also had a 5-2 record in conference play in doubles.
Tarleton State continues match action on Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at North Texas following its Tuesday match at McNeese.
