AIR INDIA FLIGHT AI171 CRASH IN AHMEDABAD, INDIA

12 JUNE 2025

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia is deeply saddened by the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 bound for London Gatwick, shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad Airport on 12 June 2025. The aircraft reportedly crashed into the dormitory complex of a medical college, resulting in heavy casualties.

Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Governments and people of India, United Kingdom, Portugal and Canada, and expresses its sincere sympathy and heartfelt condolences, especially to the families who lost their loved ones, and those affected by this tragedy.

The Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai has confirmed that no Malaysians were on board the aircraft. Nonetheless, the Consulate General is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
