The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will offer a certified food protection manager training on Tuesday, July 7, with a proctor for testing available in Fairbanks.
A certified food protection manager is responsible for ensuring that a food establishment complies with regulations. State regulations require that all such facilities have at least one certified food protection manager on staff.
Participants are encouraged to register for the training as early as possible in order to receive the study guide ahead of time.
The training will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. via Zoom or in person at the Tanana District office in the Community and Technical College building, 604 Barnette St., Fairbanks.
Those in Fairbanks can take the proctored certification exam immediately after the class. If requested, proctors may be available in additional communities. Contact Leslie Shallcross at [email protected] or 907-474-2426 for more information.
The course and a copy of the ServSafe training book are $200. The proctored exam in Fairbanks is an additional $50.
