Dubai-Dentons has advised Nord Anglia Education, the world's leading international schools organisation, on its strategic partnership with Dubai Holding Asset Management (DH) to roll out premium, state-of-the-art K-12 schools across Dubai.
Under the partnership, DH will develop bespoke facilities for Nord Anglia to operate, strengthening the education offering within its master-planned communities and reinforcing Dubai's position as a global hub for knowledge, innovation and talent.
The first British curriculum school is planned for Dubai Production City, subject to Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) approval. The school will serve families in nearby communities including Jumeirah Golf Estates, Emirates Living and Tilal Al Ghaf. Further K-12 schools are planned across other flagship Dubai Holding developments. Combining Dubai Holding's land bank and development expertise with Nord Anglia's globally recognised education platform, the partnership will expand access to high-quality education for Dubai's population of more than 4 million people.
Hazel Shakur-Quinn, Partner and Head of Middle East Real Estate at Dentons, commented: "Advising Nord Anglia Education on this next phase of expansion in Dubai reflects the growing maturity of education as a specialist real estate asset class in the region. School developments of this scale require careful structuring of lease arrangements, development alignment, regulatory navigation and operational integration to ensure institutional-grade resilience and peak operational performance. As international school operators continue to expand across the Middle East, the ability to structure real estate solutions that support long-term educational delivery is critical. We are proud to support Nord Anglia on the expansion of its education business in the UAE and congratulate DH and Nord Anglia on this partnership."
Ross Barfoot, Partner (Corporate/Education) at Dentons, added: "We are delighted to have advised Nord Anglia Education on this important stage of its expansion in Dubai. The mandate underscores the continued institutional confidence in the UAE's education sector and the strength of demand for premium international schooling. Nord Anglia's strategic growth in high-performing global markets reflects a clear long-term vision and we are proud to support the business as it strengthens its presence in the region. This transaction also highlights Dentons' deep expertise and continued focus on the Middle East education sector, where we are supporting leading operators and investors on some of the region's most significant education projects."
The team was led by our experts in education, Hazel Shakur-Quinn (Partner and Head of Middle East Real Estate) and Ross Barfoot (Partner, Corporate & Education) with support from Eesha Karamchandani (Senior Associate, Real Estate), Kislay Kumar (Associate, Corporate) Gabriel Olufemi (Partner, Construction and Dispute Resolution) Jennifer Davis (Senior Associate, Energy, Infrastructure and Projects).
