Terry Coyne Named Chair of JumpStart Inc. Board of Directors

Terry Coyne has been named Chair of JumpStart Inc.'s Board of Directors.

Founders are at the center of JumpStart's work. The organization provides programs, capital, services and connections that help them build and scale. As Executive Vice Chairman in Newmark's Cleveland office, Coyne brings regional relationships and business discipline to a nonprofit board committed to helping more entrepreneurs succeed.

"JumpStart is an important driver of the region's economy, and I want to ensure it can fully deliver on its mission for years to come," says Coyne. "That means hitting the ground running, moving with urgency and working collaboratively to secure the resources the organization and its founders need. I am honored to serve as board chair, excited about what we can accomplish together and already digging into the work."

Coyne joined JumpStart's Board of Directors in January 2026 and quickly stood out for the same qualities that have defined his career: deep relationships across the region, a practical understanding of what it takes to get deals done and a clear belief in Ohio's potential.

Coyne is an established commercial real estate broker specializing in large, complex industrial and investment properties across northern Ohio. Over a 25-plus-year career, he has successfully negotiated more than 2,500 transactions totaling more than $5 billion in consideration value.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Coyne has built a strong record of civic engagement and regional service. His board and community involvement includes organizations focused on literacy, innovation, neighborhood development, arts and culture, and economic growth. That combination of business experience and community investment aligns closely with JumpStart's efforts to help founders build stronger companies and contribute to a more vibrant regional economy.

The announcement follows the recent addition of David Sylvan and Walter Avdey to JumpStart's Board of Directors. Coyne succeeds Cindy Torres Essell who guided JumpStart through a period of leadership transition.
