Vladimir Putin instructs to prepare order awarding title of Hero of Russia to Sergei Yarashev
Vladimir Putin has instructed that an executive order be prepared to award the Hero of the Russian Federation star to Sergei Yarashev, a 21-year-old soldier from Samara who single-handedly held positions near the village of Grishino in the Krasnoarmeysk sector for 68 days. He is currently in hospital recovering after a major surgery.
Denis Pushilin, Head of the Donetsk People's Republic, reported Yarashev's heroic actions to the President during their meeting. Following the meeting, the President received a detailed report from the Defence Ministry and spoke with Colonel General Sergei Medvedev, commander of the Southern Group of Forces.
The executive order will be signed shortly.
