The perception of the cyber threat situation in German companies is alarming: 90 per cent of IT decision-makers currently consider it to be high, with 59 per cent even considering it to be very high. This is shown by a recent representative survey conducted by the market and opinion research institute Civey on behalf of eco - Association of the Internet Industry.
The increased awareness of threats reflects the growing challenges facing companies in the digital space. At the same time, it is becoming clear that cybersecurity is no longer just a technical discipline: more and more organisations are recognising that cyber resilience is a strategic task that must be actively shaped by management.
The focus is on holistic security strategies that combine technical, organisational and personnel measures. Topics such as security awareness, risk management and governance structures are just as much a part of this as the integration of innovative technologies into existing systems. The survey thus provides an important impetus: the high level of risk awareness in companies opens up the opportunity to anchor cybersecurity sustainably in corporate strategies.
Against this backdrop, the Internet Security Days (ISD) industry conference on 15 and 16 September 2025 will focus on this topic. Experts from business, politics and research will discuss 'Secure digital infrastructures - the foundation of transformation' at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne and how organisations can systematically build their resilience to cyber attacks.
