Metro Social Services Weather Briefing, February 1, 2026

Metro Social Services will reopen its office Monday, February 2, 2026 on a 2-hour delay from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Though regular business will resume assisting clients, the department remains poised and prepared to receive those impacted by Winter Storm Fern and connect them with services to recover.

"This past week has been devastating for many Nashvillians and we truly sympathize with them. Though the snow and ice fall has ended, we are now entering into the critical stage when the consequences of storm events settle in. Many residents are looking for resources to help them get back on their feet and we are equipped to do so. Their safety and stability remain our priority," said Executive Director Renée Pratt, Metro Social Services. "Our office closed last week due to weather, but our dedicated staff never stopped working - answering calls and emails, coordinating urgent welfare home checks and food deliveries, making daily welfare calls to clients, and staffing case management sites at Nashville's warming shelters."

Those needing assistance can contact Metro Social Services by calling 615-862-6432, visiting Nashville.gov/Social-Services, or coming to the office at 3055 Lebanon Pike, Donelson, TN 37214.
