Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Presents Letter of Full Powers to the Executive Secretary of the UNECA

On 8 July, H.E. Jiang Feng, the new Representative of China to United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Head of Mission of China to the AU, presented Letter of Full Powers to H.E. Claver Gatete, Under-Secretary-General of UN and Executive Secretary of UNECA. Minister Zhang Wei, Counsellor Liu Xiaoming and other officials were present.

Amb. Jiang conveyed the cordial greetings of Chinese Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi. He appreciated the significant role played by UNECA in promoting socio-economic development of Africa. He introduced the significance of the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the stability of China's policy towards Africa. China is willing to work with UNECA to implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and jointly build an All-Weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the New Era.

H.E. Claver Gatete conveyed heartfelt greetings to Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi, and welcomed Amb. Jiang to his new post. He said that China is a trustworthy partner of Africa and spoke highly of China's zero-tariff treatment towards African countries. UNECA is willing to strengthen cooperation with China, contributing to the high-quality development of China-Africa cooperation.
