Illinois 75 Pecatonica River bridge work begins June 1

WINNEBAGO COUNTY - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that weather permitting, work on the Illinois 75 bridge crossing the Pecatonica River will begin Monday, June 1. The bridge is located in Harrison.

Work will repair the westbound lane of the bridge. One lane will be open and maintained by temporary traffic signals, and the northern leg of Harrison Road will be closed during the project, which is scheduled to be completed by 3 p.m. Friday, June 12.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, alternate routes should be considered when feasible. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone, obey posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices, and be alert for workers and equipment.
