SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom announces that the 2026-27 state budget includes funding to move the New Tracy Courthouse project forward, marking a major step toward restoring court services in Tracy after more than a decade without a working courthouse.

The state budget includes $3.503 million in General Fund support for the Performance Criteria phase of the New Tracy Courthouse, with a total project authorization of $65.854 million. Once completed, the new two-courtroom courthouse will help restore local access to court services, improve safety and accessibility, and better serve South County communities.

"This new funding shows that we are turning advocacy into action for San Joaquin County. For more than 15 years, Tracy has gone without a working courthouse, forcing South County residents to travel farther, wait longer for court services, and contributing to backlogs at neighboring courts. I am grateful to the Judicial Council of California and the Budget Committees for working with me to move this project forward and bring court services back to Tracy."

-Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom

Since assuming office, Assemblymember Ransom has advocated for state funding for a Tracy Courthouse, including championing requests to the Budget Committees in support of the project and worked closely with the San Joaquin County Superior Court, local officials, and state partners to elevate the need for the project. She helped bring local leaders together around the effort, including support from the City of Tracy, the County Board of Supervisors, the Sheriff, and others.

Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom is committed to continue working with the Judicial Council, the San Joaquin County Superior Court, the Legislature, and local partners to ensure the project remains on track.
