Yard Waste Collection Update – Thank You for Your Patience

The City of Palm Bay would like to thank our residents for their patience as Republic Services continues working to address the unusually high volume of yard waste following the recent freeze.

To put this into perspective, the amount of yard waste collected this March increased by 61% compared to this time last year. The volume has been so significant that Republic Services is treating the response similar to a hurricane debris event, with additional crews, trucks, and Saturday routes being added to help catch up.

Republic Services has:
• Added two additional yard waste routes on Saturdays
• Brought in an additional grapple truck from outside the area
• Increased disposal trips and daily route adjustments to collect more debris as quickly as possible
Crews are working hard and expect to make significant progress in the coming week. Yard waste collection will continue to be addressed on a week-by-week basis as crews work through the higher-than-normal volume.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as this work continues.
