Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Meets with Kenyan Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Abraham Korir SingOei

On January 28, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Kenyan Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Abraham Korir SingOei, who is on a working visit to China.

Miao Deyu stated that in April 2025, President Xi Jinping and President William Ruto jointly decided to elevate the positioning of China-Kenya relations to a China-Kenya community with a shared future for the new era, injecting strong impetus into the in-depth development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. Against the backdrop of accelerating changes unseen in a century and the impact on the international order, China and Kenya should follow the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, firmly support each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, and take the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and China's zero-tariff policy for Africa as an opportunity to promote high-quality development of China-Kenya cooperation. Both sides should jointly practice true multilateralism, work together to set a model of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, and play a leading and exemplary role in China-Africa relations and even in cooperation across the Global South.

Abraham Korir SingOei stated that Kenya and China are good friends and good partners. Kenya firmly adheres to the one-China policy and sincerely appreciates the valuable support China has provided for Kenya's development and construction over the years. Kenya is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with China and expand all-round practical cooperation. Kenya actively supports the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and highly commends China's important role in safeguarding peace and stability in Africa and the wider world, as well as promoting global development and prosperity. Kenya is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with China to jointly address risks and challenges and enhance solidarity and cooperation among the Global South.
