Weekend detour for SH-24 at the Heyburn Interchange for bridge construction

HEYBURN - State Highway 24 will be closed under Interstate 84 at Exit 211 at Heyburn from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19, through 7 a.m. on Monday, June 22.

The closure will allow crews to install girders, which are large horizontal support beams, as part of the new I-84 westbound bridge.

Westbound drivers on SH-24 will be detoured to Exit 208 in Burley, and eastbound drivers will be detoured to Exit 216 at Declo.

Construction has been underway since 2024 to update the I-84 Heyburn and Burley interchanges to meet growing traffic demands. Work is anticipated to be completed later in 2026.

The project is funded as part of Gov. Little's Leading Idaho transportation funding initiative. The Leading Idaho initiative allows ITD to take a deliberate approach to advance large projects that will enhance safety, improve mobility, further strengthen Idaho's economy, and positively impact the Magic Valley and communities across the state for years to come.
