Friday Night Nets Returns -Bigger and Better in 2025!

The City of Newport News is excited to announce the return of Friday Night Nets, a beloved community program that is part of the Mayor's Youth T.H.R.I.V.E. Initiative. This year, Friday Night Nets will be BIGGER AND BETTER than ever, offering a variety of exciting events and activities for the whole community.

Starting on Friday, May 16 and running through Friday, Aug. 22, Friday Night Nets will take place every week from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Events will be held at two locations: the An Achievable Dream Tennis Center, 1300 Ivy Ave., and the Denbigh Community Center, 15198 Warwick Blvd. This dynamic program is FREE and open to all members of the community.

• Youth (17 and under): 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Adults (18 and over): 8:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Friday Night Nets is designed to provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment where participants can enjoy various recreational activities. Each night will feature an "Open Rec" style program, with free food, haircuts, basketball, eGaming, and other community resources. It's a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect, stay active, and make lasting memories!

This program is an important part of the Mayor's Youth T.H.R.I.V.E. Initiative, which focuses on supporting and empowering youth through positive experiences and activities that encourage growth, resilience, and success.
