Jakarta, 21 March 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe welcomed Dr Mari Elka Pangestu, Special Advisor to the President of Indonesia for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation and Vice Chair of Indonesia's National Economic Council, for a courtesy visit at the ERIA office in Jakarta.
During the meeting, Dr Mari Pangestu provided an overview of Indonesia's current economic agenda and emphasised the importance of collaboration and research in supporting policy decisions. She noted that ERIA's expertise and regional experience could offer valuable support in achieving both national and regional economic goals.
President Watanabe expressed his appreciation for Dr Mari Pangestu's leadership and dedication to advancing Indonesia's economic priorities, highlighting the importance of fostering closer collaboration between ERIA and Indonesia to promote sustainable economic growth.
The discussion further explored potential areas for collaboration on key economic issues, including trade investment, energy transition, and supply chain resilience. President Watanabe welcomed these initiatives and reaffirmed ERIA's commitment to working closely with Indonesia's National Economic Council to advance the national and regional economic policy agenda.
