County Accepting Local Legislative Proposals until March 27, 2026

The Charles County Commissioners are now accepting legislative proposals to the Charles County Code until March 27, 2026. Any individual, group, or organization interested in submitting a suggestion for an addition or revision to a local law in the County Code must submit the online legislative proposal form to the Office of the County Attorney found at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/legislative-proposals or mail it to the address below by March 27, 2026:

Each proposal will be presented during a Board of Commissioners' public hearing on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Anyone submitting a proposal is asked to attend the public hearing virtually or in person to provide a brief synopsis of the proposal and answer any questions the Board members or public may have. Following the public hearing, the County Commissioners will hold a work session to determine which of the proposals will proceed for additional research and drafting.
