BATURAJA - PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) received a visit from the Commander of Kodam II/Sriwijaya, Major General TNI Ujang Darwis, on Wednesday (11/6). The visit, which took place at the SMBR Main Building, Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, was part of the Pangdam's silaturahmi agenda with stakeholders in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region.
The presence of Pangdam II/Sriwijaya was welcomed directly by the SMBR Board of Directors, namely President Director Suherman Yahya, Director of Finance & HR Rahmat Hidaya, and Director of Operations Taufik Ibrahim.
In his remarks, Major General TNI Ujang Darwis emphasized the importance of synergy between the TNI and strategic stakeholders, including the Semen Baturaja company, in supporting regional development and maintaining the security of national vital objects.
"The cooperation between the TNI and Semen Baturaja continues to be improved in order to support regional development and ensure the operational security of the company as a national vital object," said Maj. Gen. TNI Ujang Darwis.
As part of the visit, Maj. Gen. TNI Ujang Darwis together with the SMBR Board of Directors planted Longan trees (Dimocarpus longan) in the SMBR Main Building area. This activity was carried out in order to commemorate World Environment Day which falls in June, as well as a form of joint commitment to preserving the environment.
SMBR President Director, Suherman Yahya expressed his appreciation for the visit of Pangdam II/Sriwijaya and his participation in environmental conservation activities.
"On behalf of the extended family of Semen Baturaja, we express our highest respect and appreciation for the presence of Pangdam II/Sriwijaya and his entourage. This visit is an honor for us, as well as an important momentum to strengthen the synergy between military institutions and the industrial world in the spirit of building the country and maintaining environmental sustainability," said Suherman.
Suherman also added that his party was proud because in the series of visits, tree planting activities were also carried out in the company environment, which coincided with the Commemoration of World Environment Day 2025. "This activity is not only symbolic, but also a reflection of the joint commitment between the TNI and Semen Baturaja in preserving nature and strengthening sustainable values," he added.
The activity is a real manifestation of collaboration between Semen Baturaja and the TNI in developing the region sustainably and maintaining environmental stability and sustainability. (*)
