JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A resurfacing project on the west outer road for U.S. Route 63 between Columbia and Ashland is set to get underway next week.
On May 26, construction crews from Capital Paving and Construction, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to resurface a portion of Missouri Route 163 and Tom Bass Road between Boone County Route H and Meyer Industrial Drive. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, one lane will remain open with flaggers and pilot vehicles directing motorists through the work zones. The entrances from U.S. Route 63 to Tom Bass Road will be closed for short durations, one at a time. Motorists will need to use an alternative route.
This work is expected to continue through mid-June. All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Motorists should exercise caution, eliminate distractions, and slow down through the single-lane work zones.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
