45-Day Comment Period Opens for the Proposition 4 CIMIS Stations Network Expansion and Site Improvement Project

DWR announces the release of the Proposition 4 CIMIS Stations Network Expansion and Site Improvement Project Public Review Draft Guidelines for a 45-day written comment period. The Safe Drinking Water, Wildfire Prevention, Drought Preparedness, and Clean Air Bond Act of 2024 (Proposition 4) made $75 million available to the Department of Water Resources (DWR) for projects that increase water conservation in agricultural and urban areas. Up to $10 million of the $75 million is planned for the expansion of CIMIS stations network to areas that have spatial data gaps and improvement of site conditions for existing stations.

The public comment period begins on May 20, 2026, and closes at 5:00 p.m. PDT on July 3, 2026.
