Lakewood residents are invited to be part of a special community photo honoring America's 250th Anniversary following the city's annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25.
The Memorial Day ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the Lakewood Veterans Memorial Plaza at Del Valle Park, located at Woodruff Avenue and Henrilee Street. The ceremony honors the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States armed forces and recognizes members of local veterans organizations who have died during the past year. The community photo will be taken shortly after noon at the conclusion of the ceremony. Residents are encouraged to wear red, white and blue patriotic attire to help create a festive community photo.
Specially designed 250th Anniversary-themed T-shirts will also be available for $10 each at the event.

The annual Memorial Day commemoration takes place at Lakewood Veterans Memorial Plaza at Del Valle Park.
Del Valle Park is located at Woodruff Avenue and Henrilee Street.

Attendees may sit under the shaded tent in provided chairs to view the ceremony.
Guests are also welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.
Parking will be available around the park.
Disabled parking is on the Woodruff Avenue service road immediately adjacent to the memorial.
Neighboring residents are encouraged to walk to the park.
