M-553 bridge maintenance in Marquette next week
MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing maintenance on the M-553 bridge over the Carp River in Marquette, requiring lane closures at the bridge beginning Monday, Sept. 8.
Work on the concrete bridge approaches will require closing the southbound lane. Motorists should expect one lane of alternating traffic on M-553 with temporary traffic signals. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, Sept. 15.
This project will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the roadway.
