Van Hollen Statement on Da’Cara Thompson

Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) made the following statement on Da'Cara Thompson and law enforcement's apprehension of her suspected killer:

"Da'Cara Thompson's murder is a horrific tragedy - as a father it is heart-wrenching to imagine the pain her family is feeling right now. My thoughts and prayers are with the family - and I am thankful to our state and local law enforcement, who have prioritized this investigation since she was reported missing and swiftly brought her suspected killer into custody. While nothing will heal the pain of Ms. Thompson's loss, we must ensure that the perpetrator of this crime faces the full weight of the law and our justice system."
