WHAT: The City of Saint Paul and community partners will celebrate the grand opening of the new Baker Park multi-use turf field on Friday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting and remarks from community leaders. Community members are invited to be among the first to play on the new fields. Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders will be at the event to welcome attendees and assist with the ribbon cutting.
Baker Park is a lively 6.5-acre park on Saint Paul's West Side. With funding from the City's Common Cent 1% Sales Tax and an NFL grant, the completed project work includes a new synthetic turf field, field lighting, tree plantings, and improved walkways. A combined restroom and storage facility will be constructed, with specific timeline to be announced. These improvements help Baker Park be more welcoming and accessible for all residents to use.
