Thunder Studios Forms Originals Division, Names Diana Mejia-Jones Head

LONG BEACH, Calif., May 26, 2026 - Thunder Studios today launched Thunder Originals, a new division that will develop and produce content across scripted series, unscripted programming, podcasts, and short-form vertical video. In addition, Diana Mejia-Jones joins as Head of Thunder Originals to lead this new initiative. Thunder Studios is owned by Napster, an innovation company powering the next generation of embodied and agentic AI.

The division will operate on a co-production model, pairing Thunder's production infrastructure and virtual production stages with external creative and financing partners. Programming will run across linear, streaming, social, and emerging distribution platforms.

Mejia-Jones joins Thunder from Campanario Entertainment, where she served as Senior Vice President of Development. In that role she oversaw scripted and unscripted projects for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ViX, Bravo, Telemundo, and TelevisaUnivision. Her executive producer credits include ViX's Profe Infiltrado, Netflix's La Flor Más Bella, and Amazon Prime Video's Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero. She also developed Netflix's Selena: The Series and Bravo's Mexican Dynasties. Over a 20-plus year career, she has secured more than $75 million in sponsorship, endorsement, licensing, and brand integration partnerships.

Thunder Originals will announce its initial slate later this year.
