Zach Norman, RN, Named October Colleague of the Month at Springfield Memorial Hospital

Zach Norman, RN, a specialty resource nurse in the Emergency Department (ED), has been named October Colleague of the Month at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Norman, who joined Memorial Health in February 2014, was recognized for helping lead sepsis improvement work in the ED. He supports order optimization, bedside education, documentation improvement, data review and the development of case studies.

His nominator said Norman frequently takes initiative and ownership of the work. He connects clinical best practices with the realities of ED workflow, translating complex sepsis concepts into practical education designed to help new nurses understand and apply them.

"The progress we have made in such a short time frame would not have been possible without his engagement and leadership," wrote the nominator. "Norman also brings energy and creativity to education, helping strengthen engagement and understanding among colleagues."
