CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2025) - The Public Works Department is implementing adjustments to school zone speed limits on select roadways throughout the community. These modifications apply to roadways with a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour or greater, in line with current traffic safety standards.

Specifically, the posted speed limit within designated school zones along these roadways is increasing from 15 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour. This change aims to align with statewide practices while ensuring the highest level of safety for students, pedestrians, and motorists.

The school zones affected by these changes are located along the following roadways:

Boundary Boulevard

Cochran Boulevard

Collingswood Boulevard

Forrest Nelson Boulevard

Harborview Road

Lake View Boulevard

Loveland Boulevard

Midway Boulevard

Peachland Boulevard

Quesada Avenue

Rio De Janeiro Avenue

Toledo Blade Boulevard

Willmington Boulevard
