Counsellors in schools to assist students with non-academic struggles

Name and Constituency of Member of Parliament

Mr Christopher de Souza, Holland-Bukit Timah GRC

Question

To ask the Minister for Education what efforts are being made by the Ministry to meet the increased need for counsellors in schools to assist students with non-academic struggles.

Response

1.MOE trains and deploys School Counsellors based on our students' counselling needs. Students with milder needs can be supported by teachers and peers. Schools also tap on resources in the community, such as the Response, Early Intervention and Assessment in Community Mental Health (REACH) teams and Family Service Centres.
