Science Will Win season finale explores AI in cancer care with Pfizer Chief Oncology Officer Jeff Legos

In February, Pfizer launched the sixth season of Science Will Win, our flagship podcast which recently reached 3 million downloads.

The season finale focuses on the future of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) -and what they could mean for cancer research and care. Cancer research is moving faster than ever, but that progress is not always reflected in the patient experience. AI may be starting to change that. The last episode of Science Will Win Season 6 follows the human journey, from the moment of diagnosis to the real-world barriers that determine access to care, and looks at the ways AI is impacting the cancer patients at the center of the story.

Science Will Win takes listeners under the microscope on some of the most promising medical innovations, exploring therapies that have the potential to shape the future of healthcare and offer new hope to patients around the world. Hosted by Dr. Raven Baxter (aka Raven the Science Maven), season 6 has focused on oncology, from the rise of early-onset cancer and precision medicine to survivorship and the role women have played, and continue to play, in transforming how cancer is understood, treated and lived with.

In the final episode, "The Pace of Science: AI in Cancer Care," Raven speaks with Pfizer Chief Oncology Officer Jeff Legos and other industry experts about how Pfizer is integrating AI and digital technologies across the company-from how cancers are detected to how treatments are designed. They discuss how these tools could accelerate advances in oncology, help patients regain agency and connect scientific breakthroughs with real-world cancer care.

The episode closes the season with a wide-ranging look at how AI is being applied as the fight against cancer continues.
