Starlink users who purchase their service directly from Starlink gain access to the Starlink app, a powerful tool that helps you find the optimal location for your kit, check for obstructions, customize settings, receive updates, and access support for your kit. The app provides troubleshooting data, enabling quicker resolution of issues.
First, download the latest version of the Starlink app from the App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device.
Separately, set up your Starlink Kit outdoors on flat ground or surface and in an area where it has a clear view of the sky. Position yourself close to the router, open the Starlink app, and tap 'Start Setup.' The app will guide you through the setup process, including Wi-Fi configuration steps such as setting your network name and password.
If you haven't downloaded the Starlink app yet, connect to the Starlink network through your device's Wi-Fi settings. You'll see your online status displayed prominently on the main screen.
For enterprise users managing multiple Starlink kits, checking for obstructions is just the beginning. As an authorized integrator, Speedcast customers can access Starlink's network statistics via the Speedcast Compass Portal. The Compass Portal offers near real-time device and network performance metrics, service availability checks, and data export capabilities. Users can monitor each site's performance, including bandwidth usage, signal quality, latency, and modem uptime. You can also create, track, and manage support cases directly within the portal.
Speedcast takes a managed service approach to ensuring your operations stay fully connected and supported. Customers can manage their Starlink services directly on the Compass Portal, including adjusting Opt-in and Opt-out settings for priority data. Those who opt in for priority data should be aware that additional charges apply for traffic exceeding the plan's priority access threshold. To avoid overages, the Compass Portal enables users to set up email notifications to alert administrators.
Under the Reports/Starlink Overview section of the Portal, users can view all kits on a single screen, complete with performance details and usage data. For larger organizations, customizable user permissions ensure full control over service visibility, including the ability to deactivate kits if necessary.
As the world's first and leading authorized Starlink integrator, Speedcast has led the way in Starlink deployments for enterprise customers across diverse environments. Our expertise and commitment to innovation ensure that we continually enhance Starlink services, providing critical operations with reliable connectivity.
