Audience’s New Deputy for Strategy and Enterprise

I'm excited to announce that Olivia Myszkowski will be joining the newsroom Audience team as my deputy for strategy and enterprise. In this role, Olivia will report to me and oversee newer, still-maturing pathways for audience growth at The Times.

Editors reporting to Olivia will be responsible for work on A.I. and emerging platforms, international audience growth, video audience growth, reputation insights and measurement and team operations. She'll connect what these teams learn to one another and to the broader Audience organization, while deepening our partnerships with teams outside of the newsroom, including Data, Product, Partnerships, Strategy and Audience counterparts at the portfolio brands.

Since joining The Times as chief of staff for Data and Audience in 2023, Olivia has built a reputation as a clear thinker who brings structure to ambiguous, high-stakes work. She makes the teams around her sharper and forges connections across functions and people. That combination has made her a key contributor to how The Times understands its readers and grows its journalism's reach.

She led The Times's comprehensive YouTube strategy, convening stakeholders in the newsroom and across the company to establish a framework for how our video journalism can reach audiences on video platforms. On the Newsroom Strategy team, her role prior to joining Audience, she worked on our audience strategy for video and shows and helped build the playbook for how we package, promote and measure short-form video and shows today.

"Olivia is a rigorous strategic thinker and a fantastic collaborator," said Solana Pyne, who partnered with Olivia on a video piloting project for the Sulzberger Fellowship . "Working with her on video-related projects, I've been deeply impressed by her ability to translate complex data and real-world experience into sharp, compelling audience strategy."

"At a time when the way the internet works is fundamentally changing, there's no one more up for the challenge of figuring out how to broaden the reach and impact of Times journalism even further," said Jon Galinsky, AME for strategy and operations. "Olivia's a big thinker who makes complicated problems seem easy - and fun - and I'm really looking forward to partnering with her in this new role."

Before joining The Times, Olivia built a career in survey research and data, scaling audience insights teams and strategic operations at market research startups. She holds an A.B. in public policy from the University of Chicago.

Congratulations, Olivia!
