Amazon MGM Studios is the latest entertainment industry partner to join the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP), a non-profit educational arts workforce development program dedicated to educating, training, and recruiting students from Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs), other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and other underrepresented student groups for careers across the entertainment, media, sports, music, and technology industries. Making inclusive choices behind the camera and in the boardroom ensures we are delivering meaningful, authentic content to our customers around the world.
EICOP's premiere internship program, HBCU IN LA/NY/ATL, removes barriers to entry by providing students of color with paid housing which is essential for many diverse students in accepting internships located outside their geographical boundaries. As a new partner, Amazon MGM Studios makes it possible for EICOP to continue welcoming and bringing diverse perspectives to the table by hosting student leaders and recent college grads for paid internships across all aspects of its business beginning summer 2025.
"We are committed to building a home for talent that nurtures creativity, inclusive storytelling, and innovation both on screen and off" said Amanda Baker-Lane, Global Head of Customer Inclusion for Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video. "Through our partnership with EICOP, we will continue to amplify the voices of the next generation of entertainment industry leaders."
Stacy Milner, President and CEO of the EICOP continued "we are excited to have Amazon MGM Studios join us in this important and much needed development initiative. Together, we will continue opening doors and creating access for HBCU Scholars and other underrepresented talent to bring their skills, experiences and perspective to the workforce of today's global creative industry."
Each year's cohort will spend the summer in EICOP's Los Angeles, New York or Atlanta based program gaining invaluable hands-on experience working with one of its industry partner organizations, which also includes Disney, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., CAA, WME, UTA and others.
The program also allows members of the student cohort to engage with industry leaders, attend speaker series and events, gain exposure to professional development opportunities, build networking skills, visit studio lots and go behind-the-scenes of top entertainment organizations to expand their knowledge of all aspects of the entertainment industry. The EICOP summer cohort will be announced at a later date.
