Two highly respected flight nurses with more than 50 years of combined healthcare experience are bringing their passion for patient care to a new venture focused on wellness, longevity, and preventive medicine.
Kitt Hunter and Karen Tayes, both experienced flight nurses serving with Sacred Heart and UF Health critical care transport programs, have officially opened Midtown Men's Health, a premier men's health and wellness clinic in Tallahassee, Florida.
For decades, Hunter and Tayes have cared for critically ill and injured patients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Their careers in critical care transport demanded advanced clinical expertise, rapid decision-making, and an unwavering commitment to patient outcomes.
Now, the duo is applying that same dedication to helping patients improve their health before a crisis occurs.
"Throughout our careers, we've seen firsthand what happens when health concerns go unaddressed," said Karen Tayes. "Our goal with Midtown Men's Health is to help patients optimize their health, energy, confidence, and quality of life so they can live healthier, more fulfilling lives."
Tayes is also the owner of Elysian Med Spa in Panama City Beach, where she has built a reputation for combining medical expertise with aesthetic and wellness treatments designed to help patients look and feel their best.
Midtown Men's Health offers a comprehensive approach to women and men's wellness, including hormone optimization, weight management, sexual health treatments, preventive care, wellness consultations, and programs designed to support healthy aging.
"We've spent years transporting critically ill patients and witnessing the consequences of chronic disease," said Kitt Hunter. "This clinic allows us to focus on prevention, vitality, and helping people maintain their health rather than simply treating illness after it develops."
The transition from critical care transport to wellness medicine represents a natural evolution for both clinicians. Their mission remains the same: improving lives. The difference is that today they are helping patients take control of their health journey before emergencies arise.
By combining decades of advanced nursing experience with a patient-centered approach, Midtown Men's Health aims to become a trusted resource for men and women seeking evidence-based treatments to improve energy, performance, confidence, and overall well-being.
"While our flight nursing careers focused on saving lives in critical moments, Midtown Men's Health is about helping people live their best lives every day," Tayes added.
