Eustace Xavier, Finance Director, Technical Services, Mitie, has been named STEM Senior Leader of the Year at the 2026 Black British Business Awards. This prestigious award recognises his leadership within one of the UK's largest engineering and maintenance businesses, as well as his commitment to developing the next generation of diverse talent, helping to shape future leaders and creating opportunities for colleagues to progress in their careers.
Since joining Mitie in March 2025, Eustace has been a key member of the leadership team for Mitie's Technical Services business, a division of around 16,000 colleagues delivering engineering services across more than 350 customer contracts. The business supports some of the UK's most complex estates and critical environments spanning transport, healthcare, defence, manufacturing and critical national infrastructure.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Eustace is a passionate advocate for inclusion and social mobility, supporting CHORD, Mitie's race and ethnicity network, to help colleagues from all backgrounds identify pathways to further their careers.
Now in its 13th year, the Black British Business Awards celebrate exceptional Black British senior leaders and rising stars across UK business. Winners are selected by an independent panel of senior business leaders and industry experts, recognising leadership, commercial impact and contribution to their industries.
Eustace Xavier, Finance Director, Technical. Services, Mitie, said:
"To be recognised by the Black British Business Awards alongside so many accomplished leaders is a real honour for me personally and professionally. Throughout my career, I have benefited from opportunities, support and mentorship from my biological and church family, colleagues, and inspiring leaders who have all helped shape my journey. I hope this recognition encourages others to pursue their ambitions and demonstrates the impact that inclusive workplaces can have in helping people fulfil their potential."
Phil Bentley, Chief Executive Officer, Mitie, said:
"Eustace is an exceptional leader whose contribution extends far beyond his day-to-day role. He is a passionate advocate for inclusion and social mobility, and has dedicated significant time to helping others develop, progress and fulfil their potential. This award is a fitting recognition of both his achievements and the positive difference he continues to make."
