U.S. Chamber Hosts Free Enterprise Roundtable with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce as Part of the Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour

HARRISBURG, PA - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour hosted a roundtable today on free enterprise in partnership with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC).

The event brought together U.S. Chamber Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs Tim Monahan, President and CEO of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC Ryan Unger, and local business leaders.

At the roundtable, leaders emphasized the importance of educating the next generation on free enterprise principles and highlighted efforts across the Commonwealth's business community to strengthen the state's competitiveness, develop its workforce, and advance policies that support economic growth and opportunity.

"The Harrisburg region shows how free enterprise can bring a community together-supporting local businesses, creating good jobs, and opening doors to greater opportunity. As the Opportunity Tour travels across the country, we are proud to lift up communities like Harrisburg and the people whose ideas, hard work, and commitment help them thrive," said Tim Monahan, Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

As one of the local chambers that helped form the U.S. Chamber more than a century ago, we were proud to welcome the Free Enterprise Express to Harrisburg and bring the voices of our region's business leaders into this important national conversation," said Ryan Unger, President & CEO of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC.

The Opportunity Tour is a part of the U.S. Chamber's New Fight for Free Enterprise initiative, a multi-year strategic effort to defend, protect, and promote free enterprise.

For six weeks, the Free Enterprise Express bus will visit businesses whose ideas, products, and services help make communities stronger, more vibrant, and uniquely their own. The bus is traveling to key states to drive the debate about what it takes for people, businesses, and communities to thrive. It is planned in partnership with state and local chamber members.
