Netflix Canada Hosts a Moroccan-themed ‘Lonely Planet’ Influencer event in Vancouver

Netflix Canada hosted an immersive evening at Moltaqa Moroccan Restaurant in Vancouver on October 16 to celebrate the release of the Lonely Planet.

With 50 guests in attendance, the evening was kicked off with live music played on a qanun, accompanied by refreshing drinks and a flavourful array of Moroccan dips, setting the perfect backdrop that was reminiscent of the film's captivating Moroccan landscape.

As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres before being treated to a mesmerizing belly dance performance. One dancer gracefully moved through the restaurant, balancing a sword on her head, while a second dancer invited guests to join in an interactive performance. Just like the reclusive novelist seeking inspiration at a prestigious writer's retreat in Morocco, attendees found themselves immersed in the rich culture and vibrant energy of the evening.

As the dancing came to a close, traditional Moroccan tea was served alongside delightful desserts presented by staff in kaftans and jabadors. The fragrant tea and sweet treats provided a perfect ending to the evening. Attendees departed with curated gift bags filled with Netflix mugs, Moroccan mint tea, Ras el Hanout spice, and a Moroccan-inspired notebook, offering a lasting reminder of the enchanting night.
