Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Armenia, Nikola Nikolov, presented his Credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, Nikola Nikolov, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his mission for the further development of relations between the two countries. Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that Armenia highly values the historically close relations with Bulgaria, which are based on friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples.

The Ambassador thanked the President for the warm reception and conveyed the warm greetings of the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev. He expressed confidence that the level of Armenian-Bulgarian bilateral relations could be significantly enhanced through deeper cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the full realization of the existing potential.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations. They emphasized the importance of effective and coordinated cooperation both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the European Union.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of restoring direct flights as a means of intensifying cooperation, underlining their role in promoting economic, tourism, and humanitarian ties.

High-level mutual visits were also emphasized as an effective tool for deepening political dialogue and shaping new areas of cooperation. In this context, reference was made to major international events to be held in Armenia in 2026, in particular the European Political Community Summit and the UN COP-17 Conference, stressing their significance for advancing international cooperation and joint agendas.
