Investigation Update: Fugitive Unit Arrests Suspect in 2024 Jamaica Plain Homicide

An arrest has been made of a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on September 23, 2024, at approximately 9:22 PM at 277 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.

On the night of the incident, Officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Quami J. Clarke of Boston, was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, with support from Quincy Police, executed an arrest warrant on January 10, 2025. At approximately 4:20 PM, Officers arrested 18-year-old Jason Douglas of Quincy at 35 Tyler Street, Quincy, MA.

Douglas was transported to District E-13 for booking and will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court. He is charged with:

  • Murder
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Second Offense)
