Plans for a new administrative building for the Road Commission for Oakland County in Waterford Township were recently put on hold by a 2-1 vote of the RCOC Board of Commissioners. The $43 million development is expected to bring 200 employees to Waterford Township.
At the April 28, 2025 Waterford Township Board of Trustees meeting, Oakland County Commissioner Karen Joliat addressed the Waterford Board to provide history on the project, and an overview of the authorities and responsibilities of the RCOC Board of Commissioners. She encouraged the Waterford Township Board of Trustees and public to attend the next RCOC Board of Commissioners meeting to put pressure on the board to act with fiduciary responsibility, and not wait for direction from County leaders who have no authority over the decisions made by the RCOC Board.
The RCOC Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on May 14, 2025 at the Beverly Hills campus located at: 31001 Lahser Rd. in Beverly Hills and is open to the public to attend and speak.
