FedEx Volunteers Plant Trees to Help Preserve Seoul’s Urban Ecosystem

SEOUL, South Korea, April 15, 2026 - Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world's largest express transportation companies, collaborated with the Korea Green Foundation for the second consecutive year to participate in the annual "Let's Bee Forest" tree-planting campaign. As part of FedEx Cares, the company's global community engagement program, this initiative reflects FedEx's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community-led conservation efforts.

The event took place on April 11 at Noeul Park in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and brought together 52 volunteers, including FedEx team members and their family members. Volunteers planted 150 nectar-producing trees to support pollinators and created seed banks by hand to help ensure the healthy growth of newly planted saplings.

Through the campaign, FedEx has planted more than 300 nectar-producing trees to date. These developing bee forests are expected to help stabilize local pollinator Ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and improve urban air quality, with an estimated annual carbon dioxide absorption of approximately 296kg CO₂.[1]

The "Let's Bee Forest" campaign aims to address the decline in bee populations caused by climate change and increasingly irregular blooming cycles of nectar-producing trees. The initiative also supports the ecological restoration of Noeul Park, a site that was previously used as a landfill.

"Sustainability is most powerful when it is rooted in local action," said Wonbin Park, managing director of FedEx Korea. "Through initiatives like Let's Bee Forest, our team members are not only contributing to environmental restoration, but also gaining a deeper understanding of how healthy ecosystems support resilient communities. We are proud to work alongside the Korea Green Foundation and hope these collective efforts inspire broader participation in protecting our shared environment."

FedEx is committed to encouraging team members to give back to their local communities through year-round volunteerism. In December 2025, FedEx team members donated 467 kg of supplies, including clothing, blankets, toys, books, and electronics, to the Beautiful Store through the annual FedEx Cares Purple Tote campaign to support underprivileged communities. In June 2025, FedEx volunteers also collected over 55 kg of waste during a cleanup activity at Yeouido Hangang Park.
